Description
The North American brown bear is a powerful and fearsome animal that inspires awe in the untamed environments it inhabits. One of the biggest and most potent carnivores on the continent, this species is also known as the “grizzly bear” outside of Alaska. The brown bear is extremely strong and agile, and it is recognized by the pronounced muscle-filled hump on its shoulder compared to cinnamon bears. Its fur can be any shade from light blonde to dark brown, and its hump and shoulders sometimes have white-tipped fur, which adds to its unmistakable appearance. The food of a brown bear is diverse and includes fish, small mammals, carrion, and plants.
